Denver Broncos NFL Draft – Dare Rosenthal, OT, KentuckySyndication The Courier Journal /

While a lot of us put mock drafts together for the Denver Broncos, who are three prospects the team should avoid drafting later this week?

Draft season might be the happiest time of the year for many, including those about to be drafted, who will see their lifelong dreams come true.  For the Denver Broncos, it’s business as usual.

George Paton is entering his second year with the team and is set to embark on another Broncos draft.

As of now, Paton hit it out of the part with his first draft, finding several starters and perhaps key contributors for the long term.

The Denver Broncos do not have a first-round pick, as they sent their 2022 first and 2023 firsts to the Seattle Seahawks for Russell Wilson.

Denver will not pick until the 64th overall selection, so the team and us fans might be waiting a little bit.

Looking at the draft class, there’s a ton of quality depth in the middle rounds.

I would expect the Denver Broncos to try and perhaps acquire another mid-round pick or two to add some of this talent available during day two and even into day three.

However, I think there are a few prospects the team should probably stay away from.

For one or more reasons, I think these three players probably won’t be a good fit for the team.  That isn’t to say they are bad players or poor prospects, but perhaps just a bad fit for the team.

So, let’s take a look at three prospects to stay away from in the upcoming draft.

Three prospects to avoid for Denver Broncos

1. Dare Rosenthal, OT, Kentucky

Rosenthal could be an interesting prospect for the Denver Broncos to consider later in the draft.

However, I do not think the Denver Broncos should consider drafting him.

Rosenthal spent the 2021 season as a Kentucky Wildcat after beginning his career at LSU.

He’s 6’7″ and over 300 pounds, so he looks the part, but I’m not sure what he excels at and needs work on would fit what the Denver Broncos are trying to do on offense.

He doesn’t have the best strength in the world and struggles to move laterally.  He was also suspended by LSU in 2020 for three games for a violation of team rules.

I think his less-than-ideal strength is a bit red flag here.  Sure, he can get stronger in the weight room, but seeing who the Denver Broncos have in the AFC West among their opponents, I’m not so sure I’d want Rosenthal anchoring the right side of the offensive line.

There are better prospects for the Denver Broncos to consider later in the draft than Rosenthal along the offensive line.
