George Paton’s best move with the Denver Broncos so far

1. Trading for Russell Wilson

This may end up being one of the best trades in the history of the NFL when it’s all said and done.  George Paton traded for Russell Wilson in March, giving him a franchise quarterback.

Wilson has said he wants to play for another 10-12 years, which is exciting.  He’s only missed three games in his entire career and has played at an extremely high level nearly every year.

Between regular and postseason, Wilson has won 113 total games in 10 years, an average of 11 games won per season.

He’s also thrown 292 touchdown passes in 10 years, which is nearly 30 per season.

Russell Wilson is still a top-five quarterback in the NFL who has perhaps the best deep ball in the league and can make plays with his legs.

He’s also never had this much talent at his disposal on offense.

I think people within Broncos Country might be afraid to set lofty expectations for this team, but seeing what Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady have done the past two seasons, I have no reason to believe Russell Wilson can’t follow in their footsteps.
