Can the Denver Broncos hit the magic number against the Chiefs?

Looking to snap their 11-game losing streak against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Denver Broncos will be traveling to Arrowhead with the intentions of knocking a heavy monkey off of their back.

Primtetime, baby!

Last week, the NFL flexed the divisional battle between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs to Sunday Night Football as they battle for first place in the division. Who would have thought we would be here?

Just short of a year ago, on December 6, 2020, Drew Lock and the Denver Broncos fell short of knocking off the Chiefs, 16-22. This was the latest December defeat in Arrowhead for the Denver Broncos, as they are now a miserable 3-19 in Arrowhead in December.

Patrick Mahomes has also never lost to the Denver Broncos, even dating back to his first start as a professional in his rookie season. Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach, Andy Reid, is also 19-3 when returning off of the bye week, but he is just 1-1 against the Denver Broncos after a bye week.

Basically, a lot has to go right for the Denver Broncos to upset the 9.5 point favorites, Kansas City Chiefs. While the Denver Broncos are getting relatively healthy, it is looking like RB1 Melvin Gordon will miss this matchup as he is battling a hip injury.

Head Coach Vic Fangio said that it was “doubtful” he will play, that Javonte Williams would see the majority of snaps if this falls to fruition. If this does play out this way, Mike Boone is expected to be RB2 and would spell Williams when necessary.

However, it is looking like the Denver Broncos will be getting their starting tackles back for this game in Garrett Bolles and Bobby Massie. Teddy Bridgewater is dealing with a banged-up shin but is wearing a protective guard over it and it is looking like he will be ok.

There are some keys from my lens that would contribute to the Broncos ending a streak that desperately needs to be severed. From an offensive standpoint, what must the Denver Broncos and Teddy Bridgewater do?
