The Denver Broncos Secure Both Courtland Sutton and Tim Patrick

George Paton was a busy man this week. Last Saturday, the team announced they had come to terms with wide receiver Tim Patrick on a three-year extension, causing rare elation for Broncos Country this season.

Not even 48 hours later, Paton struck while the iron was still hot, and inked Courtland Sutton to a four-year extension.

Though the Denver Broncos did not play on their bye week, of course, it felt as if the team had pulled away with a major victory by securing these two phenomenal receivers. Tim Patrick, who was thought of as a candidate for trade capital as recently as the beginning of the season, has been one of the team’s brightest spots so far in 2021.

Tim Patrick spoke of how fitting it was for he and his teammate to be extended together: “We kind of came in together, and we’ve just seen each other grow. We see each other get better day in and day out. I don’t think you could come up with a better story than us both being under contract here and being able to lead this team to more wins” (per DenverBroncos.com).

We agree, Tim.

While quarterback play may remain controversial within Broncos Country, both the team and the fans should be thankful that George Paton has taken care of his in-house players, and ensured that no matter who the future QB of the Broncos is, he will have a loaded arsenal of weapons in Sutton, Tim Patrick, and Jerry Jeudy.
