What happens if the Denver Broncos lose one of their top wide receivers in free agency?

Could the Denver Broncos go wide receiver with their first-round draft pick? Absolutely, it is possible. With Courtland Sutton and Diontae Spencer (special teamer) scheduled to hit free agency, the team might look there.

The Broncos rewarded Tim Patrick, who signed with the team in 2017, with a contract extension on Friday, locking the wide receiver in with the team for the next three years. It’s still a possibility that they follow the Patrick re-signing with a Courtland Sutton extension.

Some of the wide receivers that could declare for the 2022 NFL Draft are Chris Olave (Ohio State), Garrett Wilson (Ohio State), Garrett Wilson (Alabama), and Drake London (USC).

Some potential free agents in 2022 are Will Fuller, Chris Godwin, A.J. Green, Emmanuel Sanders, T.Y. Hilton, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. I do have a hard time believing they will go after these guys before re-signing their own players.

Regardless of what they do, I think they have a good young core at the wide receiver positions, and with the Patrick extension, it’s less urgent to draft one early.
