Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller is heading into a contract year in 2021. Many have speculated about the future Hall of Famer’s future with the team. At 31-years old, it’s possible that the team does move on from him following this upcoming season.

That depends on how they feel he performs during the 2021 season. While his eight sacks during the 2019 season look good on paper, it wasn’t quite what he has been in years’ past. However, stats don’t always factor into wins, as evident by the past five seasons following the Super Bowl 50 victory against the Carolina Panthers.

Miller said on Tuesday that he is at peace with whatever the future holds for him.

"Last year, I had all this stuff on my shoulders—beefing with [Mark] Kiszla and this and that. Coming into this season, I’m just at peace. I want to play football. I want to be in the locker room with the guys. I want to go out there and just play football. I don’t want to be worried about sacks. Of course I want to go out there and do all the things that I’ve done before. But honestly, I’m really at peace and I feel like that gives me internal peace.Von Miller (via Broncos PR)"

Whether he remains with the Denver Broncos or not, Miller also said that he wants to keep playing. That is something that he originally said earlier this season when he put a number on the amount of years he’d like to play. Miller is not doing that at this point. Throughout the press conference, he kept reiterating that he is at peace with whatever happens.

Miller refused to put any numbers on his stat totals in 2021. However, he said that, with all of the star players on the defensive side of the ball, the team should be able to put up great numbers.

He has a great point. While he will have to get back into football shape, the additions of Kyle Fuller, Ronald Darby, Justin Strnad, and the returns of Justin Simmons, Dre’Mont Jones, and Bradley Chubb, will surely make the transition back to football a little bit easier on him.

With Miller at peace with the future, it appears that he isn’t exactly feeling any pressure heading into the 2021 season, which is something that I thought he would feel. It’s great for him to have that weight off of his shoulders.
