The Denver Broncos already got one of their 2021 NFL Draft picks signed to a four-year contract with Caden Sterns agreeing to terms on Tuesday night. A second draft pick has now signed his four-year deal according to 9News Broncos insider Mike Klis.

Kary Vincent Jr., a seventh-round pick out of LSU, has agreed to a four-year contract with the team.

Vincent opted out of the 2020 season before being picked in the seventh-round by the Denver Broncos.

In addition to his incredible speed, Vincent showed outstanding ball skills in his time with the LSU Tigers, picking off six passes and breaking up 15 in three years as the Tigers’ primary top nickel cornerback.

His best season came in LSU’s incredible 2019 campaign when he finished second on the team behind Derek Stingley Jr. with four interceptions. Vincent’s size (5-foot-10, 186 pounds) was likely a factor in pushing him down the draft board along with his 2020 opt-out, but he could be a steal for the Denver Broncos as a result.

The more I’ve watched from Vincent, the more I love his projection to the NFL level as a nickel especially in Vic Fangio’s defense.

He does a great job reading run plays and attacking the line of scrimmage as well as blowing up screen plays with his recognition and quickness. Vincent takes really good angles to blow up plays near or behind the line of scrimmage and obviously does a very good job of making plays on the ball when given opportunities.

With Bryce Callahan and Essang Bassey both coming off of season-ending injured reserve, who knows how much we’ll see Vincent play defensively this season?

He certainly has the athletic ability and speed to do it, but he will initially have to cut his teeth on special teams as almost every seventh-round draft pick does.

That should not be a problem as Vincent probably could have gone pro (whatever that exactly looks like) in track if he loved it like he loved football.

Vincent’s upside is tremendous for a seventh-round pick, especially in Vic Fangio’s defense as a nickel corner.
