Denver Broncos: Potential Prospects showed out at Miami Pro Day
By Jordan Lopez
Quincy Roche (EDGE)
Quincy Roche might be the most underrated player coming out of the University of Miami and can make a leap in the NFL with the right team.
With Jaelan Phillips on one side, on the opposite end was Roche and he was nothing but amazing for the Hurricanes. Transferring to Miami from Temple, he really hit his stride under Manny Diaz and DC Blake Baker.
With Head Coach Manny Diaz at the helm, his stats were:
- 4.5 Sacks
- 14.5 TFL
- 27 Solo Tackles with 18 Assisted
- 2 Fumbles Forced
- 3 Fumbles Recovered
- 1 PD (He had 5 Passes Deflected at Temple the year before)
With Phillips having most of the attention on him, Roche had multiple occasions of one-on-ones on the edge. Not only did he capitalize on those times, he made the other team pay for it.
College teams toward the end of the year started to key in and focus more on Roche and his ability, but it did not seem to slow him down.
Here are his measurements from the Senior Bowl:
- Height- 6’2
- Weight- 243
- Hand- 9 1/2
- Arm- 32
- Wingspan- 80 3/8
At the Pro Day, Roche maxed out at 23 on the bench press, reached 9’11” on his broad jump, recorded 32.5 on his vertical jump, ran a 4.68 in the 40-yard dash, a 4.42 on the 20-yard shuttle, and hit a 7.18 on his 3-cone drill.
Quincy Roche might be available for the Denver Broncos on day three of the draft. If Denver missed out on any edge rushers or defensive ends, Roche will be a steal for them and will play well for Denver long-term.
Brevin Jordan (Tight End)
There is a lot of hype around highly anticipated draft pick Kyle Pitts, but another tight end teams should think about is Brevin Jordan.
Jordan was used multiple ways in newly OC Rhett Lashlee’s offense, including as a wide receiver. The pass-catcher was not only phenomenal in the passing game but underappreciated in the running game.
He is one of the best tight ends in the draft and he showed that with his performance in 2020. His numbers include:
- 38 Receptions
- 576 Yards (15.2 AVG)
- 7 Touchdowns (Tied with Teams Best)
- 1 Pass Completion for 15 yards too!
Jordan was the best weapon for D’Eriq King last year alongside wideouts Mark Pope and Mike Harley.
For his whole entire career at Miami, he totaled 105 receptions for 1358 yards with 12.9 yards per reception and 13 touchdowns.
During the Pro Day, he measures at:
- Height- 6’2
- Weight- 247
- Hand- 9 3/4
- Arm- 32 7/8
- Wingspan- 79 1/4
He ran a 4.69 on the 40-yard dash, an 4.62 on the 20-yard shuttle, and a broad jump of 9’8″. Jordan also recorded a 30-inch vertical jump and repped out 17 times on the bench press.
He was a terrific playmaker for the University of Miami and helped them win a lot of games throughout his career. Many are upset that they can’t draft Kyle Pitts but Brevin Jordan will not be a bad selection at all, especially considering what he has put on tape.
The Denver Broncos will have many options for the ninth overall pick in this year’s draft. Whether staying put or trading back, these prospects (Especially Phillips and Rousseau) should be strongly considered to become a Bronco.
