Broncos 2021 mock draft: Day 3 picks

4. Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame

For the second consecutive year, the Broncos use a fourth-round pick on the tight end position.

With Albert Okwuegbunam coming off of injury and Nick Vannett underwhelming in his first year with the team as a free agent acquisition, there’s a chance the Broncos could look to supplement their depth here.

Not only that, but Tremble is a heck of a talent. As a blocker, he looks to punish. As a receiver, his potential is untapped but he runs good routes and has strong hands.

5. Larry Rountree, RB, Missouri

If the Denver Broncos are sticking with Drew Lock for another season, they might as well go and grab another one of his teammates from college.

Larry Rountree has some exciting playmaking ability and can stick his nose in there as a pass protector. He has some explosiveness for a bigger back, too.

The fourth or fifth round might be the sweet spot for the Broncos to take a back from this class given their current depth at the position. A player like Rountree would have some intriguing long-term starting potential.

6. Tre Brown, DB, Oklahoma

You can’t ask for much better value in the sixth round of a mock draft scenario than Tre Brown out of Oklahoma.

The Broncos have Parnell Motley on the roster at the cornerback position, and if they liked him coming out of Oklahoma last year, the scouting department will undoubtedly vouch for his former Sooners teammate Brown.

Whether he is playing outside corner, nickel, safety, or on special teams, I love Brown’s versatility and ability to stick as a rotational defender and core special teamer at the next level.

7a. Wyatt Hubert, DL, Kansas State

Keeping on brand with Big 12 defensive players in this mock draft, the seventh round seems way too late for someone like Wyatt Hubert, but if this situation presents itself it would be wise of the Broncos to take advantage.

Although he’s slightly undersized, I think Hubert has a chance to be a valuable weapon on the defensive line with his array of moves off the edge and tenacity when he’s working on bigger linemen inside.

7b. Dax Milne, WR, BYU

If you have studied Zach Wilson at all for the 2021 NFL Draft, you undoubtedly know all about Dax Milne, his number one target in the passing game. Milne doesn’t jump off the page with his size but he plays with such great control and has strong hands.

Milne’s ability to make tough, contested catches is just a treat to watch. In the seventh round, he’s a steal and could push someone else off the roster.

7c. Feleipe Franks, QB, Arkansas

With the final pick in this Broncos mock draft scenario, we make a little splash at quarterback.

Feleipe Franks is the definition of an NFL Draft dart throw with solid athleticism, great size, and an absolute rocket for an arm. He showed it on this incredible play involving Denver Broncos receiver Tyrie Cleveland when they were together at Florida…

This throw is, in a word, insane.

Franks has his back foot on the opposite 35, and he throws it to the opposite hash on a dime about 70 yards in the air while taking a hit…to win the game.

Although there is more to his story than just this throw, this is the kind of play NFL teams are going to be taking a shot on the talent this guy has.

Considering all teams take four arms to camp, you could do a lot worse than this player.
