Denver Broncos Mock Draft- Rounds 5, 6, & 7

Pick 138

Having already shored up their outside cornerback position with Marshon Lattimore, the Broncos add more depth to the slot cornerback position with the selection of Kary Vincent Jr. Vincent has the elite athleticism to cover a variety of receivers, and will be a part of the rotation at cornerback.

Vincent has elite speed and fluid hips to hang with receivers one-on-one, and will be a matchup weapon against the speed of the AFC West. Vincent struggles as a run defender due to his small size and frame, and will likely be limited to the slot at the NFL level.

With Bryce Callahan struggling to stay healthy, and on the last year of his contract, Vincent figures to be a big part of the Broncos’ dime package, along with Essang Bassey. The Broncos find a steal with Vincent Jr., and let him develop as a playmaker.

Pick 169

With the 169th pick, the Denver Broncos add more depth to a strong outside linebackers room. However, with Von Miller under potential legal investigation and Jeremiah Attaochu being an Unrestricted Free Agent, Malcolm Koonce may be asked to be more than a developmental player.

Koonce has good size for the edge rusher position and will learn under two of the best players in the NFL, baring any legal issues with Miller. Koonce will replenish the lost depth from Attaochu’s likely departure and will serve as a developmental option for the Broncos.

Pick 202

With their first of three picks in the 7th round, the Denver Broncos add Ventrell Miller, an off-ball linebacker with intriguing size. At 6-feet tall and 222 lbs, Miller has good size for a coverage linebacker and has experience in coverage at the collegiate level.

Miller will take plenty of development to become a true starter in the NFL, and will likely see plenty of action on Special Teams to start his career. Miller has the tools and athleticism to put it all together but is just a project for now.

Pick 204

At 6-foot-4 and 285 lbs, Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa is an interesting prospect for the Broncos’ defensive line. Tagovailoa-Amosa will likely serve as a defensive end in the Broncos’ defense but has the ability to move inside and work against interior offensive lineman.

The Broncos take a swing at a prospect with some developmental upside in the 7th round. Tagovailoa-Amosa will serve as depth to a defensive line that could be losing several key players this offseason.

Pick 219

Chris Rumph II is an undersized edge rusher who could serve as a moveable blitzer for the Broncos’ defense. While he lacks the size to play as a traditional outside linebacker, Rumph has intriguing athleticism, and a knack for causing havoc with 17.5 sacks and 33 tackles for loss over his career at Duke, per Sports Reference.

Vic Fangio is one of the most creative blitzers in the NFL and will find a role for Rumph as a situational pass-rusher. Rumph could see some playing time, but will likely be more depth for the Broncos’ defense.
