The Secondary

Most would agree that the Denver Broncos have been plagued by injury, COVID-19, you name it this season. However, it feels as if the unit that’s been dealt the biggest blows is the cornerback room.
With Duke Dawson suffering a season-ending ACL injury on Sunday, the Denver Broncos have now lost five corners. Of course, most notably, Bryce Callahan was placed on IR, and A.J. Bouye is serving a six-game suspension for a PED violation.

With this unit being about as banged up as it gets, it showed on Sunday. The secondary’s zone coverage was torched, and fans feared that the Broncos would lose their lead.

It is not always that the offense outperforms the defense on this team, but a rare exception occurred on Sunday.

Unfortunately, it seems the Broncos’ secondary will just have to limp out the rest of the season. Hopefully, the bruising isn’t too bad in the three remaining games.

Brandon McManus, K

While it is isn’t rare for kicker Brandon McManus to be featured in our stock report, it is rare that he is featured on this portion of the list. After missing two extra points on Sunday, however, it is expected.

Even the best kickers are allowed a bad day at the office, and with the news that McManus is going on the COVID-19 reserve list, it would make sense that he had potentially been feeling ill during the game.

McManus even poked fun at himself for his performance. However, Denver will definitely miss his absence if he is not a go for Saturday’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
