5. Offensive Weapon

Adding a moveable “chess piece” on offense has helped teams like the Kansas City Chiefs and New Orleans Saints become juggernauts on offense in recent years. While the Denver Broncos are still figuring their offense out, adding a new dimension to the offense could take some of the pressure off of Drew Lock to be perfect.

The Denver Broncos could look at a multitude of positions for this pick, but adding a player with a wide skillset could change how the Broncos view their offense. Having a player who is able to take it the distance from anywhere on the field would drastically change up the offense.

Many thought K.J. Hamler would be this piece, but the Broncos have slotted Hamler in at a true receiver position. Hamler has looked great in this role and will continue to see snaps in the slot going into next season.

If the Broncos want to add a new speed element to their offense, the 2021 Draft has plenty of options available. Here are some players to watch for if the Broncos decide to spice things up in the draft:

"J.D. Spielman-#323 overall player per TDN, “This dude is slick. Super slippery in one on one situations, Spielman’s change of direction skills, quickness and vision as a ball carrier pop immediately. He’s fully capable of embarrassing and undressing defenders in the open field with his low build frame and the subsequent low center of gravity that he’s afforded as a result.” Charleston Rambo-#274 overall player per TDN, ” Rambo is a consistent three layer threat that was often utilized in all areas of the field. Has shown to have success on deep posts, digs over the middle and quick screens on the perimeter. Involved in the Sooners up tempo offense in a multitude of ways, he possesses value in multiple spots.” D’Eriq King-#375 overall player per TDN, “Terrific athlete with exceptional quickness. Feet are springy and he’s dynamic as a runner. Makes defensive ends look silly trying to contain him and he’s slippery in space. Destroys pursuit angles and has good vision in the open field. Snappy release allows him to get the ball out quickly and execute horizontal spread passes.” Chatarius Atwell-#190 overall player per TDN, “Features blazing speed and the ability to get behind the secondary. There won’t be many opponents that have defenders capable of winning foot races with him and staying connected as routes elongate. Louisville featured him as a vertical receiver but also in jet motion with opportunities to create in space for himself. Elusive, twitchy, fluid and sudden”"

One way or another, there are plenty of options for the Broncos to make upgrades in the 2021 NFL Draft.
