Denver Broncos: Key matchups vs. New Orleans Saints
Defensive matchups – Edge defenders against Taysom Hill
Saints quarterback Hill is much more of a threat to run the ball than throw it and presents one of the toughest matchups to date. The do-everything quarterback has scored rushing, receiving, and throwing in his career, so the Broncos must be ready for anything.
Hill displays rough fundamentals as a passer and will provide the Broncos with enough time to get home for a sack. The issue being, can they get him down when they get there.
Hill is a big-bodied quarterback and is capable of making defenders miss. Additionally, Hill loves to break the pocket outside the edges and get to the perimeter. He did this twice last week, leading to two rushing touchdowns.

Now enter Malik Reed and Bradley Chubb, the edge defenders for the Broncos. To get a win this week, not only will they need to get pressure against two phenomenal tackles, but they also cannot let Hill break containment.
Chubb and Reed are playing well, as both players have 6.5 sacks after starting the year off slowly.

Reed has seemed to have found a rhythm with his pass-rush and utilizes his quickness to get to the passer.
Chubb has used his power and technique to get home. Chubb is utilizing his teammates, so he wasn’t before to set himself up with easy sacks.
Chubb and Reed will need to utilize their teammates in conjunction to get home against Hill through a stout offensive line. If Chubb and Reed can play, Hill is a quarterback they can create some turnovers against.
If Denver can neutralize Jordan with just Dotson, the Broncos offense may be able to gain some traction in the run game and find plays outside against some above-average corners.
If the Broncos defense can create some pressure and maintain their containment in their matchups outside, the Broncos defense can keep a high-powered Saints offense in check.
