5. Justin Simmons

The man of the hour in this game was Justin Simmons, who made the game-sealing interception.

This was one of three balls Simmons got his hands on in this particular game.

As mentioned previously, one interception by Simmons — which came just a couple of plays after Drew Lock’s first-quarter interception — was wiped off the board by a really ticky-tack defensive holding call.

Later in the game, Simmons nearly jumped a route from tight end Mike Gesicki to pick off a second ball.

He might have just missed on interceptions twice, but Simmons was not going to be denied a third time.

Not only did Simmons notch the game-ending interception, but he also led the team with seven total tackles.

This interception was Simmons’ fourth of the season, tying the career-high he set last season. The Broncos are letting Simmons play out this season on the franchise tag, but they are going to have to pay the man as soon as they are able (when the season is over).

Simmons deserves a long-term contract, and there is no question at this point that the Broncos should want to get that done. He is a playmaker, he is clutch, and he’s a cornerstone piece of the franchise.
