3. KJ Hamler, WR

Let’s be real, it was difficult to pick a third player from watching the Broncos’ tape this past week.

With that said, KJ Hamler continues to make great strides in his game and it’s worth recognizing.

After being targeted a total of 18 times in his first four NFL games, Hamler has been targeted 20 times in the past two weeks by Drew Lock. He’s getting open in the slot, but the Broncos are also scheming plays to get him the ball.

At this point in time, there has been more success getting the ball to Hamler when he gets himself open rather than getting him the ball and letting him do his work after the catch. The latter will start to come more and more as he gets opportunities his way.

Now he has back-to-back games with 50 or more yards receiving and Hamler could very well have his signature game of the 2020 season against the Miami Dolphins working out of the slot.

Hamler is not only showing off the speed the Broncos coveted when they selected him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he’s also showing route-running prowess, toughness, and tremendous athleticism.
