Denver Broncos week 10 power rankings roundup
Are media outlets confident in the Denver Broncos in week 10?
ESPN (Last Week: 22nd; this week: 22nd): Jeff Legwold’s “recalibrated expectation” for the Broncos is to find their way to an 8-8 season. As Legwold points out, it will be a tough ask with so many good/great teams left on the team’s schedule. It’s possible, but not likely.
We’ve been saying “If the Broncos can get healthy” all season long and it just feels like that will never really happen. In fact, I know it won’t because Courtland Sutton has no chance of returning.
Pro Football Talk (This Week: 21st; Last week: 18th): This team just can’t get over the hump. They struggled last week with A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan out at cornerback and they continue to miss Sutton and Miller. As PFT points out, this team has potential. They’re close yet so far away.
Sporting News (This Week: 21; Last Week: 20): While the offense showed some life last week in Atlanta, there are still some defensive issues. Heck, at this point, one week it’s the offense’s fault, the next week it’s the defense’s fault.
We have to learn to give this team some patience. They’re not the first team to be young and struggle.
CBS Sports (This Week: 24th; Last Week: 21st): Their positive note is that Drew Lock learned in this loss. There were some good things and some bad things. The bad thing is that they lost the game.
Toronto Sun (Last Week: 20th; This Week: 21st): The Toronto Sun out of Canada hints that the Broncos need to start getting off to a better start during games. They average just 8.7 points in the first half of games during the 2020 season so far.
Maybe that would be the key to victory going forward.
