Jordan Leggett could be a fun addition at TE for the Denver Broncos.

The Denver Broncos have had a barrage of injuries in the 2020 season, and what seems to be an unfortunately frequent target of the injury bug in recent years is the tight end position.

The Broncos recently placed rookie Albert Okwuegbunam on injured reserve after a really promising and fun start to his NFL career in 2020. They also, in recent weeks, have placed Andrew Beck and Jake Butt on IR, but hopefully of the temporary variety.

The injuries have been bad enough at tight end that the Broncos brought Troy Fumagalli back to the practice squad, and he could be activated for game duty as soon as this weekend against the Raiders.

In lieu of all the injuries at tight end, the Broncos brought in a player for tryouts who could be a fun addition if it all works out.

Former Clemson tight end and 2017 fifth-round pick Jordan Leggett visited Denver on Wednesday, per the league’s transaction wire (reported by Aaron Wilson and Mike Klis).

Leggett has only played 15 career games, all of them in 2018 with the New York Jets. He caught 14 passes with one touchdown that season and spent some time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2019 and 2020 on the practice squad.

At Clemson, Leggett was a tremendous weapon for quarterback DeShaun Watson. Over the course of his final two seasons with the Tigers, Leggett caught 15 touchdown passes, and over his four seasons there he caught 18 in total.

The talent and potential have always been there with Leggett. Unfortunately for him, it hasn’t translated to sustained success in the NFL just yet. Luckily for him, there is a clear opportunity in Denver to earn some snaps this season, and he’s still just 25 years old.

At 6-foot-6, 260 pounds, Leggett has big-time size and is a mismatch in the red zone.

With the injury to Albert Okwuegbunam and others, someone like Leggett or Fumagalli could really benefit big-time and put some nice things on tape.

dark. Next. Reasons to keep faith in Drew Lock

Opportunity awaits.
