5. Dalvin Tomlinson, DL, New York Giants

Although Pat Shurmur is an offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos, he once coached the whole New York Giants team.

Therefore, Shurmur could give an endorsement for Giants nose tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, who could be a great short-term replacement for Mike Purcell.

The loss of Purcell was felt in a big way by the Broncos on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, and they can’t be getting gashed in the ground game because they don’t have a big body on the inside capable of taking on blocks and working his way into the backfield.

Tomlinson is enjoying a nice 2020 campaign for the Giants with five tackles for loss, four QB hits, a sack, and three passes batted.

The former second-round pick out of Alabama has been a steady performer for the Giants on their defensive line, even in a part-time role.

He would help the Broncos’ run defense recover from that tough loss of Purcell.
