As of Friday, what are the statuses of injured players for the Denver Broncos vs Steelers Week 2 matchup?

The Denver Broncos head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in Week 2, but will not do so at full strength.

Von Miller, who is likely to miss the season, is recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in practice. He was placed on injured reserve.

The Broncos will be without linebacker/safety Mark Barron, who is dealing with a hamstring injury and also did not suit up against the Titans on Monday night.

Running back Phillip Lindsay will miss several weeks because of a turf toe injury he suffered against Tennessee. The Broncos may fill his spot with LeVante Bellamy to pair with Royce Freeman and Melvin Gordon.

Wide receivers Courtland Sutton (shoulder) and Tyrie Cleveland (hip) are both questionable. Sutton missed Week 1 with the injury. Cleveland had one catch for seven yards while playing on just five offensive snaps against Tennessee.

At left tackle, Garett Bolles appeared on Wednesday’s injury report with an elbow injury. He has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against Pittsburgh after participating in practice on a limited basis throughout the week.

The Broncos lost cornerback A.J. Bouye in Week 1 to a dislocated shoulder. He was placed on injured reserve and, with the new injured reserve rules, will miss at least three weeks. The Broncos will need to rely on rookie Michael Ojemudia along with Bryce Callahan, Duke Dawson and possibly Davontae Harris (although Harris didn’t play a single snap in week one despite Bouye’s injury).

Also listed on the injury report on Friday but participated in practice on Friday were safety Kareem Jackson (not injury-related), outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (knee), wide receiver K.J. Hamler (hamstring), tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (hip), and tight end Jake Butt (hand).

On the Steelers’ side, they will be shorthanded on the offensive line with tackle Zach Banner and guards David Decastro and Stefen Wisniewski out. Running back James Conner (ankle), wide receiver Diontae Johnson (toe), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury-related), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (NIR), wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (knee), and defensive end Stephon Tuitt (achilles) all fully participated in practice on Friday.

It’s going to be a tough matchup against the Steelers, but it’s probably a must-win game for the Broncos. Starting the season 0-2 would be a very bad situation.
