After missing the first game of the 2020 season due to a hamstring injury, could we see one of the newest Broncos linebackers make his debut against his 2019 squad?

Barron was cut by the Steelers for salary cap reasons this offseason, and when the Broncos lost rookie Justin Strnad for the season with a wrist injury, they brought in Barron to be their nickel ‘backer.

Obviously with Barron hurt in week one, those responsibilities went to Josey Jewell, who stayed on the field all three downs and actually looked pretty darn good throughout the course of the game.

Jewell, of course, took Todd Davis’ job after Davis went down with a calf injury in training camp.

Barron doesn’t have a sterling track record in the NFL as a former first-round pick, but the Broncos believe he’s capable of being the coverage linebacker they so desperately covet, so he’s going to get the shot to prove them right.

It will be fascinating if he plays against the Steelers to see how his former team attacks him out there, knowing him as well as anyone.
