Will Courtland Sutton take the field?

Courtland Sutton has officially been listed as questionable after suffering an injury to his AC joint in his shoulder during practice on Thursday. It will be bad news for the team if he can’t play, but he also needs to be protected so as not to further aggravate the injury and potentially do more damage.

The Broncos will certainly have to weigh some risk versus reward with the decision.

Lock and Sutton have begun to create a nice combination through the air, so without him on the field, Lock would have to rely more on guys like Tim Patrick and DaeSean Hamilton. It could also mean that first-round pick Jerry Jeudy sees more targets than he would have originally in his debut.

Sutton is slowly turning into one of the league’s best young receivers and big things are expected from him in year three. But at any rate, he has suffered an injury that will likely set him back, at least for one game.

If he does take the field, he could be on a snap count and not used as much as he potentially would have been otherwise. It might be smart to just let him sit this one out.
