How will the defense look without Von Miller?

Losing Von Miller to a long-term injury before the season even started was disastrous, but the Broncos don’t have time to whine and cry about it. Instead, the team will have to use a positive next-man-up mentality.

Without Miller, one of the game’s mist ferocious pass-rushers, the defensive game plan definitely changes. But if the team can get a guy like Malik Reed or Jeremiah Attaochu to step up and make some plays, the blow of losing Miller will be softened.

The Broncos have looked into adding veteran pass-rushers this week including Cameron Wake and Clay Matthews, but a deal could not be reached with either man. So for Week 1, it will have to be a guy like Reed or Attaochu who steps up and fills the role.

Miller is coming off a down season that saw him register just eight sacks, but his presence on the field alone is enough to make opponents have to account for him. The  Broncos will need to make some calculated adjustments.

There will also be the return of another guy, which leads into our next storyline.
