Von Miller has definitely earned consideration already

Von Miller is the obvious choice here. He has been a game-wrecker since being the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He eclipsed 10 sacks in all but two of his nine seasons in the NFL thus far including a season in which he reached 18.5 sacks.

Miller became the Broncos’ all-time sack leader in 2019, passing Simon Fletcher. He also recorded his 100th career sack. At 31-years old, Miller can continue to climb the all-time sack leaderboard and in the second year under Vic Fangio’s guidance, I think he will definitely improve on the 8-sack season he had in 2019.

He also has 6.5 sacks, an interception, two pass deflections and two forced fumbles along with 31 tackles and 12 quarterbacks hit in the playoffs.

Miller also helped the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, and was named the MVP of the Super Bowl after he recorded six total tackles and 2.5 sacks, defended one pass and forced two fumbles.

People will say that Miller has lost a step, and going from 14.5 to 8 is a very big difference, but there are things in Miller’s game that aren’t necessarily recorded as a stat. He is still a game-changer and has a strong case to make it into the Hall of Fame, especially if he continues to grow in the current defensive system that the Broncos are running.

Bradley Chubb’s season-ending injury in 2019 didn’t help Miller either. Without Chubb, offensive lines were able to put more focus on Miller.

There is no question that Miller already deserves to get into the Hall of Fame. The true question is when will it be?
