Week 16: 2010 vs. Houston Texans

Since we’re looking at the 2010s overall, how about we go all the way back to the beginning of the decade for one of the best games of this particular set of 10 years?

The Broncos in 2010 were one of the worst teams in the NFL. They were competing with the Carolina Panthers for the distinction as the NFL’s worst.

Josh McDaniels was fired mid-season after it was discovered he was up to some of the same cheating antics that went on when he was in New England. The Broncos had nothing to play for at the end of the season except draft status, but rookie quarterback Tim Tebow was about to get his first career home start in Denver.

The Texans led this game 17-0 at halftime, and this one didn’t look too dissimilar from the other losses the Broncos had suffered throughout this miserable season.

Then something clicked.

The Broncos got their running game going in the second half with Tebow and Correll Buckhalter, who scored the team’s first touchdown of the game.

The Texans added a couple of field goals in the second half but they weren’t enough to derail the Broncos’ comeback.

Tim Tebow led the Broncos on two fourth-quarter touchdown drives to help propel the Broncos to a much-needed victory and perhaps provide a glimmer of hope for the 2011 season.
