Former Broncos punter Colby Wadman is well known for going from delivering pizzas to kicking in the NFL.

After quickly moving on from Marquette King in 2018, the Broncos brought in Wadman from the practice squad and rolled with him for two seasons. This offseason, he was released.

The Broncos signed Sam Martin at the end of March, which sealed Wadman’s fate. Martin has spent the past seven seasons punting for the Detroit Lions and now he will come to the thin air of the Mile High City looking to be even better.

Wadman wasn’t terrible for the Broncos, but he was about what you would expect for a guy who was undrafted out of UC Davis. The Broncos gave him a fair shot and felt they could improve in that area. Martin should be a big improvement.

As for Wadman, unlike the spot where Leary plays, punter is not really a premium position in the NFL. There are only 32 guys in the world who have that job.

There is a shot that Wadman could get a chance to come in and be a “camp leg” for a team this summer but he will likely remain a street free agent hoping to get a call if someone gets hurt or is ineffective, such as the case with King.

There is an even better chance that he won’t punt in the NFL again.
