Bad playcalling, especially on offense

The Broncos were victim to some bad play calling in 2019 under former offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello. Remember that Jet Sweep with Noah Fant?

Yeah, me too.

Denver lost three games by a touchdown or less in 2019. They easily could have been 10-6 rather than 7-9. A big part of that was due to the play calling. Rich Scangarello was let go after the season.

Don’t get me wrong, every coach has bad plays once in a while. Even Bill Belichick’s Patriots have had something go wrong for them. But the thing is that the  Patriots can afford it.

Going back to the youth of this team, I don’t believe the Broncos are built to be able to overcome bad play calling. It needs to be a lot better than last year.
