Running backs (3, 8/53)

  • Phillip Lindsay
  • Melvin Gordon
  • Royce Freeman

Cuts: Khalfani Muhammad, Levante Bellamy

With the way roster rules work in 2020, it won’t be surprising in the least to see more NFL teams carry just three running backs.

The Broncos have a couple of fun wild card types of players in Khalfani Muhammad and Levante Bellamy, but either one of those guys could go onto the practice squad and the Broncos could have them for two roster call-ups during the season or they could permanently put them up in case of injury.

The top three backs, to me, are set in stone and it would take an other-worldly showing in limited preseason action for either Muhammad or Bellamy to supplant Freeman outright.
