S Justin Simmons

The great thing about Justin Simmons is that he has barely missed a snap for the Broncos during his time with the team. Last year, he played 99.72 percent of the team’s defensive snaps — equalling to over 1,000 snaps.

He made a tremendous impact, recording 93 tackles, 15 passes defended, and intercepted four passes.

It is a disgrace that Simmons was not named a starter for this year’s Pro Bowl. He could be considered one of the biggest snubs.

Not only is Simmons one of the most important players on the team; it is worrisome that there is not much depth behind him on the team. Aside from Trey Marshall, the only other safety on the roster who has experience is Alijah Holder. Holder played just 23 defensive snaps for the team in 2019.

It is a surprise to me that the Broncos did not address the position in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, this proves that they are very confident in their safety group, led by Simmons.
