The Denver Broncos face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and pass rusher Von Miller has been listed as questionable for the matchup with a knee injury.

The Denver Broncos  face the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday and they could be without their best pass rusher in Von Miller.

Miller missed Wednesday and Thursday practices because of the knee injury. He is listed as questionable for the game against the Chargers.

Earlier in the week, head coach Vic Fangio said that Miller had an MRI on his injured knee but it is not considered too serious.

Despite the fact that Miller is expected to be okay for the game against the Los Angeles Chargers, it is still safe to wonder how much this injury could affect Miller going forward, specifically in their next game.

The thing is, Miller has done something in Fangio’s defense that he never did in the past: drop back in coverage. If it were me—even before this knee injury—I would have Miller rush the passer all day long without any drop backs.

Throughout the 2019 season, Miller has played 638 of 726 snaps (87.88%), which is good for third overall on defense. Obviously, his stats do not show very much production but it is still beneficial to have him out on the field. Some of the best stats are the ones that are not officially recorded.

Getting pressure on Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers will be crucial if the Broncos are going to win this game. They might have Alexander Johnson (knee) to help with that but having Miller on the field is very important.

Miller has 104 career sacks and last Sunday he sacked the 51st quarterback of his career. Phillip Rivers won’t be an addition to the list anymore since Miller has gotten to him the most of any of the quarterbacks he has sacked (16 total times).
