Denver Broncos: Defensive backs the team could try to sign
Kayvon Webster, CB
The inability to stay healthy has wrecked Webster’s post-Broncos career, but he’s a free agent option and at 28 years of age is still young enough with enough upside to consider at this point.
The biggest positive to signing a guy like Webster is, if he’s healthy, he’s a massive upgrade to the special teams unit.
If he’s forced to play corner? I’m not so sure.
He didn’t allow a catch in his very limited action with the Houston Texans, and didn’t play long enough with the Rams for us to really make any sort of snap judgments there.
All we really know of Webster is what we knew of his initial time with the Broncos when he was a decent fourth or fifth corner but you didn’t necessarily want him taking starter reps there.
If the Broncos are simply seeking defensive back depth, they could do worse than this guy and he would upgrade their third phase significantly.
