The Denver Broncos have apparently been asking around about some veteran cornerbacks. Aaron Colvin just became the best one available.

The Denver Broncos have reportedly been looking into some veteran options at the cornerback position and earlier on Tuesday, we took a look at some possible options in the entire defensive backfield the team could look into.

If the team is actually in the market for a veteran cornerback, one player just became available who would be worth taking a shot on.

Although Aaron Colvin is coming off of a brutal performance for the Houston Texans against the New Orleans Saints in which he was part of giving up field position at the end of the game leading to a Saints victory, Colvin was a big-money free agent acquisition just two offseasons ago for Houston.

Coming over from the Jacksonville Jaguars, Colvin excelled playing in the slot and got a nice amount of guaranteed money from the Texans.

Colvin didn’t put up huge numbers or anything while he was with the Jaguars, but his upside was obvious. At the end of 2017, Colvin ranked fourth in the NFL in yards per target (5.6).

He was clearly an ascending player, but things haven’t worked out for him in Houston for whatever reason.

Perhaps Colvin would be a better fit in Vic Fangio’s defense than he was in Romeo Crennel’s.

At any rate, with all of the money Colvin is still owed this year, he’s likely to be a nice bargain flyer for some team and why not the Broncos?

If the Broncos are truly that concerned about Bryce Callahan’s foot, they have to do something.

Isaac Yiadom was torched in the season opener against the Raiders just like Colvin was torched against the Saints, but he’s still just 27 going on 28, has proven himself in the NFL on a great defense before, and is unquestionably the best name out there right now among available cornerbacks.

I’m sure he’ll have a market, but he could have a huge role with the Broncos right away.
