The Denver Broncos, just like the rest of the NFL, were very active in the first wave of roster movement as teams get down to 53 active players.

Black Monday is the day in the NFL in January when a number of teams fire head coaches and clean slates. There’s not a nickname for roster cut day, but it’s absolutely brutal for almost 1,200 guys who will head into their team’s front office and turn in their playbook.

Or iPad, or whatever it is now.

The Denver Broncos began making moves on Friday with some expected and some unexpected activity, which is typical of pretty much every team.

There’s always a few guys you can’t believe your team cut, and there’s always a few guys you can’t believe made it over your favorite preseason star.

We are tracking every move the Broncos make and you can find that full list (and follow along) by keeping this list open in one of your tabs.

We’re not going to leave you hanging anymore. The three most interesting moves, which we’ll explore in this post a little more in-depth, were:

  • Trading for Patriots CB Duke Dawson
  • Cutting S Su’a Cravens
  • Cutting WR Brendan Langley

Let’s take a look at all of these moves and what they mean for the Broncos going forward.
