Dalton Risner, left guard
Going into the 2019 NFL Draft process, I didn’t have much of a preference for the Denver Broncos other than to come away with Dalton Risner. I figured they would have to get him in the top 32 picks of the draft, but they ended up getting him with their original second-round pick, 41st overall.
Risner was a three-year captain at Kansas State, a technician at a number of offensive line positions, and generally one of the cleanest prospects on and off the field I looked at in the pre-draft process.
He’s also a native of Wiggins, CO.
The Broncos and Risner were a match made in heaven and he’s proving very quickly to be a wise investment in round two. Risner is putting guys on the ground, creating space in the running game, and doing work in pass protection.
Risner has been as-advertised for the Broncos, and looks like he will be a longtime starter in the NFL.
