The Denver Broncos are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers in their third preseason game of 2019. Which players should you keep an eye on?

The Denver Broncos are finally going to be back on the field 11 days after their game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Monday night’s preseason contest against the San Francisco 49ers comes after the two teams came together for joint practices on Friday and Saturday last week. By all accounts, it was a productive couple of days of work and the stars definitely came out to Denver to be part of the festivities.

The 49ers and Broncos are two storied franchises with a lot of rich history, and a lot of that history was fully on display at the Broncos’ practice facility over the weekend.

The meeting of the minds included general managers John Elway (Broncos, of course) and John Lynch (49ers) as well as former head coach Mike Shanahan, the father of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. Peyton Manning was also out at practice along with a number of other notable Broncos alumni.

Those guys all had very interesting things to say after the weekend pair of practices, and you can read some of their most notable quotes in this post I put together here.

Now that the joint practices are in the books, what are we watching for in the game?

  • What order will the backup QBs play?
  • How will the Broncos adjust to life without Andy Janovich?
  • Emmanuel Sanders getting his first action
  • Jake Butt back?
  • Will we see the starting secondary together?
  • Can the first-team offense find a rhythm?

I can’t wait to see a little extended work for the first-team offense in this game, and how the Broncos choose to mix up personnel groupings with some of their recent injuries.

Here are players I’m really looking forward to seeing in this game.
