It took till the third round, but the Denver Broncos finally added to the defensive side with defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones from Ohio State.

Denver Broncos needed a replacement for Domata Peko and appears they landed one in Dre’Mont Jones out of Ohio State in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jones has great quickness and the hands to match, along with the ability to create openings to get in the backfield. He fills exactly what their needs are on the defensive line.

While the line is not a huge problem, you can never have enough depth there. Jones is a tackle for loss machine for a defense. The offense was the greatest weakness, but the Broncos still added a playmaker on defense. Impressive.

Denver is looking to still become a playoff contender. There may be a chance the Broncos make it, but they will need to impress in every game and need all the depth they can get. Jones might see nickel situations early on, but he is a very impressive player that adds beef on the defensive line.

The Denver Broncos stay in a familiar conference as well. It is well documented the Broncos love Big Ten players.

Shelby Harris, Dre’Mont Jones, Derek Wolfe, and Adam Gotsis is an impressive quartet of players on the line that Bill Kollar coaches and the depth is instantly better. Jones makes the team better and has garnered some first-round buzz in the past.

Not significant, but a solid player just coming into his own as a playmaker.
