Denver Broncos vs Washington Redskins: Four storylines to follow
By Andrew Wade
Will Keenum fix his footwork?
The first-team offense looked significantly better in game two against the Bears than they did in game one. That doesn’t mean it was all sunshine and rainbows, however.
Keenum made a couple of beautiful passes and mostly fantastic decisions throughout his quarter and a half of play. He did, however, have a few throws that gave me flashbacks to the past two seasons.
When Keenum missed on his throws, he was missing high. There were two throws that specifically stick out where he overthrew an open Emmanuel Sanders. Sanders isn’t nearly as tall as some of the other Broncos, but that’s a throw a starter needs to make consistently.
Fortunately for Broncos Country, it sounds like Case is aware of this and already knows the next steps for improvement.
What I am interested in seeing on Friday night is if Case can improve on this sloppy footwork. I’ll chalk the first two games up to nerves and working out the kinks. With the dress rehearsal coming up, I want to see the growth and improvement show as well.
With that being said, it’s nice to be able to nitpick at relatively small issues of quarterback play unlike in previous seasons.
