Denver Broncos: Five veteran QBs to replace Paxton Lynch
By Andrew Wade
Matt Moore
Matt Moore is the most likely option at this point. The career backup has made a name for himself by being a reliable fill-in option off the bench. Although he will never be a full-time starter, he is a guy that can come in and win a few games while the starter is injured.
He is also currently a free agent and has quite a few things going in his direction according to Nicki Jhabvala.
In his ten-year career, Moore has posted a 15-15 record. He has accounted for 6,938 yards passing, 45 touchdowns, and 36 interceptions. Although these numbers aren’t lighting up the stat sheet, they are consistently decent enough to fulfill the backup position in Denver.
Additionally, his veteran presence would be fantastic for the development of Chad Kelly who has many Denver Broncos fans very excited after a solid first preseason game. Being an unrestricted free agent, Denver could bring Moore in at the veteran minimum and not need to sacrifice a future asset.
At this point, it’s not a matter of if Denver brings in another QB, rather who do they bring in. Paxton Lynch is quickly losing the confidence of everyone in the organization and was demoted to third string this afternoon. Which route John Elway and the Denver Broncos take, however, remains to be seen.
