Connor McGovern, RG

McGovern was recently highlighted in a post about players that are facing make-or-break seasons with the Broncos. You can check that out here.

To recap a bit, McGovern is facing a make-or-break season because of the fact that he’s being given a golden opportunity to seize a starting role this year.

Last year at this time, McGovern was the team’s top center as Matt Paradis recovered from double hip surgery. Everyone knew that McGovern would return the role to Paradis when he returned, but he played well enough that most thought he would force the Broncos to make a tough decision about whether McGovern or Max Garcia was one of their top five guys on the offensive line.

The team didn’t realize it until late in the season when McGovern finally got his chance, but he played well when Ron Leary went down with a season-ending injury.

McGovern is one of the most athletic and strongest big men on the team. He’s got to prove he’s got longevity on the field as a starter now.
