Denver Broncos Take Troy Fumagalli With Fifth Round Pick
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos have selected Troy Fumagalli with their fifth round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. A need for tight end has been filled.
Troy Fumagalli is quite an interesting story. He has been living life with only nine fingers since he was two years old. He was born with amniotic band syndrome.
Fumagalli has proven throughout his football career that it has not slowed him down. The Denver Broncos selected him with their only fifth round pick. They originally had two fifth round picks. But would trade it to the Los Angeles Rams for two sixth round picks.
The Denver Broncos are getting a versatile tight end in this draft. He can block and he can catch. He should pair well with Jake Butt, who will be returning from ACL surgery that kept him out for the entire 2017 season.
Troy Fumagalli played for the Denver Broncos staff at the Senior Bowl this offseason, so the Broncos have some in depth look on what he is capable of doing. He was also a team captain during his time with the Wisconsin Badgers.
He could become a big time target for Case Keenum and the Denver Broncos offense. This is especially true seeing how the tight end position has struggled so much. The team had Owen Daniels, but since him, nothing much from the position.
