With their second pick in the third round, the Broncos selected cornerback Isaac Yiadom from Boston College. How can he impact the roster?
Looks like the need for cornerback was apparent with the departure of Aqib Talib. The Denver Broncos got Trumaine Brock during free agency. And now, through the draft, they have added Isaac Yiadom from Boston College.
With their second third round pick, the Broncos went cornerback and drafted what many believe is a dark horse contender at the cornerback position. I will be honest, I have never heard of the name until it was announced. I honestly thought to myself “oh great, awesome pick.”
Notice the sarcasm in that? Very hard to do on a computer. Joking aside, I am unsure about this pick. From what I have read on, he appears to have that physical presence that could make an impact on the Denver Broncos. I also read that he allowed a lot of catches occur in front of him, according to Mike Tanner over at Bleacher Report. That alone scares me. What if he misses a tackle?
Good physical player, but coverage is an issue. That by itself is the reason why I would not be huge on this draft pick. But I have been proven wrong before.

How does Isaac Yiadom impact the Broncos roster? I don’t sense an immediate impact. He could play special teams to start. But working on his weaknesses will give him time to develop.
I would like to see more of him during training camp and preseason. As it stands now, I am really uncertain about this pick. Hopefully he does become the dark horse and can make an impact on the Denver Broncos.
But for now, I am skeptical on Isaac Yiadom. Maybe he makes an impact, but only time will tell.
