“Knowing where I came from, what I’ve overcome — it gives me the passion to come speak to kids like this.” - @gbolles72#BeAChampion https://t.co/XILDwlJEqj

This is not the first time Bolles has spoken openly in support of those with a learning difference. During a game last year, Bolles wore cleats dedicating awareness to those with disabilities. The company located on the shoe is the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). Due to Bolles raising an awareness to those dealing with this difference, NCLD awarded Bolles the Distinguished Leadership Award.

Bolles speaking numerous times and establishing an instant relationship with those having a learning difference speaks volumes to me personally.
During my early years, I was diagnosed with a learning difference. One may think this is meaningless. However, the burden it weighs on a young person’s shoulders is extraordinary. It was not until I had help from teachers trained through the National Institution of Learning Disabilities that I embraced my difference making it become second nature.

Many teachers and counselors set low expectations for my success. I faced the fears since then and now the areas of my deficit are some of my strengths.
Garett Bolles helping those in need is music to my ears. Don’t let those bring you down or make you feel insignificant because of a disability. Every person is wired differently and given same chance at success as the next person. Face your fears and you might become a NFL starting left tackle someday.
