The Denver Broncos will have multiple special guests announce a couple of their draft selections throughout the NFL Draft…

The Denver Broncos will have a number of people not named Roger  Goodell announce some of the team’s draft picks during the 2018 NFL Draft, which starts on April 26th and ends April 28th.

Every year, the NFL allows a variety of people announce their favorite team’s draft pick in a specific round. It could be a former member of a team, a former coach, a fan, or even a hospital patient.

First up is Austin Denton, who has been battling cancer since the age of two. Austin has been a patient at St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Denton is 17-year-old and has been in remission since 2007.

Denton, despite his struggles while battling cancer, is in grade 11 in high school and is an announcer on his own sports radio show, which is located in New Mexico. He was also in attendance during the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 win against the Carolina Panthers.

Another person who will announce one of the Broncos’ draft picks is former first-round safety Steve Atwater. Atwater spent his entire career in orange and blue and is regarded as the best safety in team history. He played for the Broncos from 1989 through 1998 and spent his final year in the league with the New York Jets.

Former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey will announce the team’s second pick in the third round of next week’s draft. McCaffrey spent time with the  New York Giants (1991-1993) and San Francisco 49ers (1994) before having an exceptional career in Denver, from 1995 to 2003.

Lastly is current Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. Harris Jr will read the name off of the draft card for the team’s first third-round selection. Harris is one of the best cornerbacks in the league. He was the Broncos’ 2017 Man of the Year award winner.

It makes a lot of sense to have somebody who has won that award to announce a draft pick for their team.
