Baker Mayfield to meet with the Denver Broncos This Week
Baker Mayfield will meet with the Broncos on Monday and Tuesday. The interest Denver is showing in him makes it feel like he will be drafted by Denver.
Baker Mayfield will be in Denver in the near future. The former Oklahoma quarterback is meeting with a couple members of the Broncos staff on Monday and heading over to Dove Valley on Tuesday so the team can evaluate the quarterback even further, according to Nicki Jhabvala.
With every passing day, it feels more and more like the Denver Broncos will be drafting a quarterback with the fifth overall pick in the NFL draft, which is quickly approaching. The amount of interest the Broncos have been showing in regards to Mayfield is very interesting.
A top ten spot is likely for Mayfield. Barring something crazy, he should be available when the Broncos are on the clock at number five. Of course, there is also a chance that another quarterback slides to them. They very well could change gears and go with the other guy.
The Broncos' offseason workout program begins tomorrow. Baker Mayfield will also be in town and have dinner with the Broncos' brass that evening, then visit the team's Dove Valley facility Tuesday. On Thursday, John Elway will have his usual pre-draft news conference.

Baker Mayfield will gain interest from other teams. I think the former Oklahoma standout quarterback ends up with Denver or in New York with the Jets. The Jets had the sixth-overall pick, but traded with the Indianapolis Colts to the third-overall pick.
If the Giants or Jets draft Mayfield, he would prove that they made the right decision. “First things first, they’d get a winner,” he said. “I think if anybody is going to turn that franchise around, it would be me. I can make any throw. The energy I bring and the passion I bring, it’s infectious.”
Yes, he was talking about two New York teams. However, the confidence Mayfield has in himself is a very important trait to have if you want to become a quarterback, or any player, in the National Football League. You absolutely have to have confidence in order to play the game. I felt like confidence was lacking last season when it came to the Broncos quarterbacks.

The Broncos are more than a quarterback away from being a great team. There are still some holes to fill on the roster, but drafting a quarterback in this year’s draft could be the move that puts the team over the top. Case Keenum is the team’s starter in 2018, but may not be the long-term answer at the position. By watching from the sidelines, a rookie quarterback the team drafts has the potential to be the answer.
I think it will be Mayfield.
