With quarterback being a premium, some really talented players are going to fall to number five. Game changers that represent other needs in Denver.

Penn States Saquon Barkley is considered the best running back prospect in the last five to ten years. There have been reports of Elway looking to move up to draft the talented back. Whether the reports are true or not, drafting Barkley could give the Broncos a star running back they haven’t seen since Clinton Portis and Terrell Davis.

The offensive line has been truly lackluster the past few season. Insert Quenton Nelson. The guard out of Notre Dame possesses awareness and pure nastiness that experts believe will translate into a perennial all-pro. If the Broncos are serious about improving the trenches Nelson would upgrade the unit immediately.

Next: Draft Possibilities for the Broncos at No. 5

The last time the Denver Broncos selected in the top five they selected the current face of the franchise Von Miller. They could once again go that route by selecting N.C. States Bradley Chubb. In the Super Bowl season the pass rush was at it’s finest, Chubb potentially gets them back to that level. At the very least it will alleviate pressure from Miller.

Roquan Smith and Minkah Fitzpatrick will also be intriguing for Denver.

If the Denver Broncos love a quarterback at five they will ultimately take him, however they shouldn’t panic. Quarterback is the most important position, but there is other factors to consider before they are on the clock.
