Denver Broncos Tender ERFA DL Shelby Harris
By Tylor Walden
The Denver Broncos are bringing back Shelby Harris by tendering him for the 2018 season. Harris made a big play in the season opener in 2017.
It looks like the Denver Broncos will be bringing a big piece to their defensive line back in Shelby Harris. According to Mike Klis, the team has tendered the exclusive rights free agent for $705,000. Nice to see that a defensive lineman that shows so much promise will be back.
Mike Klis also mentions that other Broncos will be given tenders as Exclusive Rights Free Agents. Expect the Broncos to make some more moves in the coming days.
If you do not remember Shelby Harris, he was the defensive lineman responsible for blocking a game tying field goal by Los Angeles Chargers kicker Younghoe Koo. The block came after the Denver Broncos almost blew a 24-14 lead.
That was not all Harris did during the 2017 season. He was in fact one of the bright spots for the Broncos abysmal season. Recording 34 tackles and 5.5 sacks, Harris was one of the most productive members of the defense.
This is a solid move for the Denver Broncos. A player that has hopefully found a home in Denver, Shelby Harris was on three other teams before coming to the Mile High City. With questions to the defensive line, this could be the chance for him to earn more starting time.

Chances are he will be competing with Demarcus Walker for the starting job at defensive line opposite of Derek Wolfe. I believe Harris will have a good shot at earning the starting job. Question is can he build off a successful 2017 campaign.
With such a successful season under his belt, Broncos Country is looking forward to what 2018 has in store for Shelby Harris.
