Winning History/Legacy
One thing that the Denver Broncos offer when you walk into the team facility that other teams in the Cousins race simply do not — a trophy case and a history of winning championships.
Not ancient history, either.
The Broncos just won Super Bowl 50, and many players on the roster are still there to tell the tale.
Denver’s front office and coaching staff have guys that helped lead that team to a championship, but other coaches or executives were part of the back-to-back titles in the late 90s.
This is the only team that Cousins is pursuing with a room full of guys that can tell Cousins about how they’ve been to the mountain top, and how his presence on the roster can help them get right back in it.
Denver has historically been a place where quarterbacks acquired via free agency or trade have thrived. Even if you exclude John Elway from that group, Peyton Manning and Jake Plummer are two recent examples of players that came from other teams and found almost immediate success with the Broncos.
Cousins would be able to add to the legacy of great quarterback play in Denver, and etch his name into history with the likes of Elway and Manning as quarterbacks to bring a title to the Mile High City.
The Broncos are the only team that offers true championship winning experience.
