It’s been well documented the Denver Broncos will explore just about every possible option to secure the services of a quarterback…

Since the Denver Broncos own the fifth pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, it affords them the opportunity to look at all quarterbacks available. On Friday night, the Broncos will meet with Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Mason Rudolph. It’s worth noting all these meetings will be formal.

Sam Darnold is the the possible number one pick and arguably out of range for the Broncos. However it is still smart to meet with him for due diligence just in case. On the other hand, Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield are the two top targets for the Broncos at the fifth overall selection. If the team passes (or misses) on Kirk Cousins, then these two should be near the top of the list.

Josh Allen remains the mystery. Of all the targets in the draft, Allen has the best tools and possibly the highest ceiling. But, due to too many inconsistencies of his feet, arm, and decision making there’s no clear sign of when he will be drafted in the first round. Allen is from Wyoming and like Mayfield, was on the Broncos’ North roster during Senior Bowl.

Mason Rudolph and Lamar Jackson are the intriguing quarterbacks of the seven. Rudolph has a great, accurate arm and decent enough mobility to evade defenders. That bodes well for a quarterback playing in the spread offense at Oklahoma State.

Lamar Jackson is the gifted freak athlete that is a quarterback. Jackson is potentially the closest we have seen to Michael Vick. The only difference is Jackson is right handed and taller.

We can add Luke Falk to the list of draft quarterbacks the Broncos will interview tonight. Falk is a true spread offense quarterback that plays in a Mike Leach system. Unfortunately, Leach does not have great history in producing NFL quarterbacks. The Broncos are at least interested enough in Falk to set up an interview with him.

Next: Kirk Cousins a Peyton-like priority?

Unless there’s a quarterback that wows the Denver Broncos tonight in the meetings, look for the plans to remain the same in free agency. However, if Cousins were to fall trough look for the Broncos to push hard for Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield.
