1. Gary Kubiak factor

I don’t know if you knew this or not, but there’s precedence to the Denver Broncos pursuing Tyrod Taylor.

Back in 2015, he was offered a contract by the Broncos, a larger contract than he was offered by the Bills at the time, as a matter of fact.

Gary Kubiak worked with Taylor in his one year — 2014 — with the Baltimore Ravens. He apparently made enough of an impression then that Kubiak felt it was worth it to offer him a high-level backup contract with the Broncos, and potentially take over for Peyton Manning after the 2015 season.

That wasn’t what Tyrod wanted at the time. He wanted to play, and Buffalo offered a chance to play immediately.

The Broncos could try and bring Taylor in again this offseason, this time with a starting role in mind. Kubiak is supposedly going to be helping in the personnel department, both in free agency and in the draft.

If that’s the case, he may view Taylor as the best option for this team going forward.
