The Denver Broncos are likely going to be looking for a quarterback in the NFL Draft. One option in the draft is Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Th quarterback position for the Denver Broncos is going to be key to pay attention to when the offseason begins. There are a variety of players that the Denver Broncos could look at. One option could be on day two of the NFL Draft. That player is Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.

Rudolph’s size and throwing power could really draw the attention of a lot of NFL scouts. He is known to throw the deep ball and can do it well. That is something that we have not seen from either Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch, or Brock Osweiler for the most part of their time in Denver.

Mason Rudolph just led the Oklahoma State Cowboys to a win over Virginia Tech in the Camping World Bowl in Orlando, Florida. Rudolph finished the game with 21/32 for 351 yards and two touchdowns. Overall, he had a solid performance. He was even named the player of the game.

Evaluating Mason Rudolph

From what I saw, there were some things that I liked about his performance and some that I did not like. But that is normal, right? His two touchdown passes were a thing of beauty. The first one was like threading a needle in a small spot. He placed it perfectly to the receiver near the pylon to score a touchdown.

His second touchdown showed off his arm strength as he threw a 65 yard touchdown to a wide open receiver. If Denver needed a big time throw, Rudolph can be the guy.

However, some of his throws were off to say the least. He missed his receivers a few times in the game. One of the biggest issues I had with his game was in the second half. He attempted to throw to a receiver in the middle of the field.

But he was unaware of the defender getting his hand up. He deflected it and it nearly became an interception. For a quarterback that is six foot, five inches I find it odd that he could not see the defender get his hands up.

Overall, he had a solid showing in the bowl game. If Denver were to miss out on the first round prospects or find a solid quarterback via free agency, Mason Rudolph would be a decent option on day two.
