The Denver Broncos travel to the Nation’s Capital for their last road game of the season against the Washington Redskins. We preview the game here.

Here we are just under 24 hours until kickoff and the Denver Broncos have yet to decide on a starting quarterback. The rumor has it that Brock Osweiler will likely start this game. Paxton Lynch is close to recovering, but may not see the field until next week.

As a fan, I found it really frustrating that the coaching staff has yet to decide on a starting quarterback. My best guess is that they want to see if Lynch has any mobility on his leg. On one hand, it makes Washington’s preparation difficult since they won’t know who they are up against. But I was really hoping that Vance Joseph would have picked someone by now.

None the less, the Denver Broncos are set for a rare visit to Washington D.C. to take on the Redskins. This will be the final NFC opponent the Broncos will face this season. They have not fared well this season. Denver is 1-2 against the NFC with their lone win coming against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Broncos started their long losing streak against the previously winless New York Giants and got thrashed in Philadelphia by the Eagles three weeks later. Hopefully, the Broncos will try to win somewhere they have not won in some time. It has been nearly 20 seasons since the Broncos tasted victory in the Nation’s Capital.

With that said, let us look at the tale of the tape between these two teams.

What to Watch For

Could Kirk Cousins end up in Denver next season?

It is no secret that the Denver Broncos will be looking for a new quarterback in 2018. The question is what route does John Elway go? We saw Elway at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl observing Josh Allen. I have no doubt he will be in D.C. to take a look at Kirk Cousins.

My only knock on Cousins is how do the Broncos plan to afford him? He could demand a lot of money on the open market. Signing him could mean the end to some other players on the roster. This will be a chance for Broncos Country to really look at Cousins and try to imagine him in blue and orange.

It could be a route to go, but we will ultimately see in the offseason what goes down.

Prediction

If I knew who the starting quarterback was going to be, I could have a good idea of how this game will go. Earlier this morning, I played Madden and just rolled with Osweiler for the game. Here was the result I got.

Ignore the playoff birth in the tweet. Denver is 11-4 in my Madden season. If only that was true in real life. But playing Madden, Osweiler had an okay game. The 87 rushing yards were interesting. But hey, in order to not make mistakes throwing, just take off, right?

The Broncos offense has been clicking a bit as of late. Will that stay true? It could if C.J. Anderson gets the ball rolling.

I think Anderson will have a solid game and the defense shines.
